Varying priorities between different partners can pose a challenge in the translation of research and the achievement of the intended goals of a partnership.
To resolve such a challenge, there is a need for constant realignment of the various priorities of the various partners engaged in the partnership.
Challenges in partnerships mainly stem from various management styles of staff and resources and to solve that we have had to agree on adopting a set of management style and use of resources that does not compromise any of the partner’s values and integrity.
Oliver, if you go back to the main course page and click Curriculum, you should be able to see all the lessons and questions. Do let us know if you continue to have challenges.
Hi Chris,
Many thanks for the highly informative training.
As my team is preparing to submit our application, kindly note that I have not received my certificate in my email address, having completed the course. And this is crucial for submission that is due tomorrow.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you.
1. Issues with timelines – deadlines were usually missed due to delayed release of funds from institutional finance departments to meet deliverables
– change the nature of engagement from institutional based on consultancy
– insist on strict adherence to timely release of resources
Dealing with the challenges:
1. The need for transparency. One must be truthful and open to them.
2. It is important you not to promise them something you cannot provide.
Challenges
1. Trust
2. Delay in implementation (Timeliness) mainly due to conflicting interest and engagements
Responses
1. Emphasis should be placed on this at the initial planning and implementation stages
2. Priorities toward implementation should be well defined with well structured tasks with timelines giving to each partners. A plan B for immediate action by other partners should be also incorporated in case of failure.
Unfortunately, I am not able to view the videos. It tells me to enroll in the course to view the content but there is no option for that. Any help please?
One major challenge in collaborative partnerships is managing the different interests and cultures and aligning and focusing these to achieving the common objective.
Potential challenges include lack of trust, conflict of ideas, differences in time management are parts of major challenges in collaboration. Through patience trust will be built, harmonizing ideas and time by reaching compromise. Having mind that diversity is strength if harnessed appropriately.
I finished all the lessons and took the quiz but I could not get the certificate. I didn’t see the question in lessons 1 and 2. I tried this link too (https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0qStSkWUcC9vBCR) but it did not connect to my account

The challenges encountered in partnerships are mainly due to differences in priorities, timetables, methods and points of view. It should be useful to find a compromise or an alternative to readjust and converge towards the same goal.

The four pillars of embedded research translation are partnerships ,process, products and dissemination.
The process and pillars of partnership process translation and dissemination are a very effective break down.
I did not find any lesson 1 questions. Is this the case?
Michael, it might be late, but Lesson 1 questions are available here: https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0qStSkWUcC9vBCR
I did not find lesson 2 and 3 questions. Would you kindly provide the link or are we supposed to answer in the comment section?
